Essentially what the author of High School DxD wanted to do but couldn't.
OH WAIT, HE ALREADY DOES THAT.
Also, this time being late is not my fault. Had this shit ready fucken four days ago. Blame retarded travel plans.
That...actually sounds deeper than it should.
By the way, the main protagonist, Ryousuke, is voiced by the same VA (Shimono Hiro) that voiced Yoshii Akihisa in Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu - perfect fit; very nicely done.
Anyways...off to the production values. The graphics are a bit shiny, but the rest is meh. The girls are drawn decently, I guess, but that's more due to character design than to the studio. Feel studio does a good job of the shiny part, but apparently they couldn't manage to improve upon the character proportions. A pity, since they did such a good job with Mayo Chiki. But then again, they fucked up Yosuga no Sora and Papakiki so I have a feeling that their performance is pretty bipolar.
The sound is nondescript, as usual. The OP (Reason why XXX by Sasaki Sayaka) seemed interesting, but the beginning part kinda tried to climax and then fizzed out. I mean, I like chromatics more than the next guy, but the beginning literally just went through an entire major scale before landing on a proper note to hold. Didn't really find much to it, although the role change from Zzz to this sort of song for Sasaki was pretty cool. Try checking out the OP if you have time.
As for the plot...
I spoiler'd this picture b/c it has too much plot in it. I swear
The plot is dumb. Weird random shits/enemies appear, and the devil girl Lisara and the perverted protagonist Ryousuke overcome it by becoming more powerful with each round. No doubt he's the 'special person' that they're all looking for, since he's the only one with any actual powers in the entire fucking school.
And then the harem builds, of course. Derp.
I mean, I dunno what to say about this. Am I supposed to marvel at the absolute lack of a plot? Am I supposed to relish the fact that the protagonist pushes himself and sacrifices himself constantly for those around him, thus building up his harem just like 140185159185 other male protagonists in this day and age? Am I supposed to giggle because the idol with the big boobs looks too much like Tomonori from the Kore we Zombie desu ka? franchise? C'mon guys, gimme something to work with here.
And it's not like the harem is that good either. Lisara is really shallow as a character besides the tsun characteristic, her sister is a side-act, the childhood friend is a quiet fuck who makes Manami from Oreimo look like she's part of the main cast, and the newest addition to the harem, the blonde idol, doesn't look like she'll have any more use in the plot after this arc other than being a part of the harem. Goddamn it all.
CrimsonMonarch is gonna watch this shit. I know it.
Recommendation: Don't watch it. It'll waste your time.
I want to cry now.
