ExtraCareful's Soundtrack Pick of the Week

Sorry for the delay. Anyways, here's yet another song to pique your musical tastebuds.

Shinsou (BlazBlue: Continuum Shift II Song Accord #2 [Game Opening Theme])
Imai Asami

Apparently BlazBlue is one helluva game. This also means that I probably won't get to play this game. Ever.

Blazblue: Continuum Shift II is yet another 2D Street Fighter-ish fighting game (don't kill me please fanboys). However, by word-of-mouth and from some trusty sources, I'd say that BlazBlue is a game worth playing. And the soundtrack for it doesn't exactly take away - this head-banger opening is just the kind of thing to get you pumped anywhere, anytime.

Shinsou really really really likes to abuse those minor intervals (e.g.: 0:05~0:12) and then include in hours' worth of electric guitar frenzies (0:13~end). This isn't insulting it in any way - I mean, strong vocals + strong drums + strong electric guitar is always a welcome combination, especially when they're not autotuned or doing retarded crap (I'm looking at you, KOTOKO.) In addition to the delightful climbing up and down the register, Shinsou is relatively unpredictable melody-wise. It's hard to describe, but I think you'd be better off listening to find out how on-the-edge-of-your-seat this song brings you. Enjoy!
