ExtraCareful's Soundtrack Pick of the Week

All RIGHT guys, starting this up again...steeling myself for the future Expectations posts + Conclusion posts to come. (YES, I realize that Ozuma + Uchuu Kyoudai + some other shit have come out. Nobody on the blog team cares except for maybe the release of Zetman, for which I am very apologetic for anybody viewing this blog. Sorry!)

LightRook's note: Speak for yourself, ExtraCareful! NotMoe and I acknowledge that Uchuu Kyoudai doesn't suck!

Damn, how long has it been since I've heard a rock song from an anime/VN that wasn't synth/effect-decorated to oblivion and was actually worth listening to more than two or three times? With a decent electric violin part? Yes please. All of the insert songs and pieces from this visual novel are worth listening to, so you should download the albums ASAP. Again, same as with iM@S...if the pieces aren't worth listening to in a music-focused game... Not to say that the game in itself isn't good. It's plenty decent, and I think you guys should actually play it. It's surprisingly long though, so prep yourselves for the long haul. I highly recommend the following: 1) Follow http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/990800-dear-drops/faqs/63868 if you're not entirely sure of how to manage your wanted route. 2) Length and Depth/Quality of Plot are both in this descending order: Riho > Kanade > Rimu > Yayoi (last two can be interchanged but I don't think visiting the same shit over and over again is much fun). For you OCD 100%-ers, it would be good if you played in this order: Kanade (standard) --> Yayoi (interlude) --> Rimu (appetizer :3) --> Riho (true end). WARNING: Do NOT play Riho End unless you want to not play the other endings. That one is exhausting to play through. Anyways, back to the song. I wish the violin had a more complex part, but this is rock, after all, so gotta keep the running melodies simple. Sometimes the drums are loud enough to barely get in the way, but overall I really like the mix and how they kept it simple and mostly synth/effect-free. Wish I could see more like this in the future... Enjoy!
